he whispers that when he was young he had lucid dreams that were precognitive
the last one when he was 12 but that he didn’t tell anyone until he was 25
how he wonders about time travel & i tell him i believe time travel
will be achieved not with machines but with dream techniques
a folding of consciousness becoming light & he says he read
about the many-worlds theory & that perhaps when you
die you go to another universe a parallel place but
then the idea that you can see the future that you
could go to a heaven (or I remind him: Hades
Nirvana Valhalla Olympus Oz, the Happy
Hunting Grounds, Gotham City, etc.)
doesn’t that just make everything
pre-determined & meaningless
& i tell him that question is
in itself a meaningless one
Wittgenstein said “The
world is the case”
St. Thomas
Aquinas
went quiet
there is
this place
inside where
all the pain all
distress & questions
do not matter: a place of
quiet pleasure where
there is no need
for meaning
